Your travel agent can arrange airline tickets (non-stop not available) and no-hassle transportation to Fort Wayne International Airport, where you’ll fly to Nashville. The five hour drive from Nashville to Blowing Rock will fly by in a spacious Chevy Suburban (subject to availability) with family.

Lodging: Log Cabin: The Abby

The Abby is a 3BR/2.5BA log cabin located between Boone and Blowing Rock and close to many High Country attractions. Enjoy long range mountain views and upscale cabin finishes. There is a king master on the main floor. Upstairs are two queen bedrooms and a fold out sleeper sofa in a spacious loft.

Activities

  • Enjoy beautiful views and a guided audio tour on the drive up Grandfather Mountain. Grandfather Mountain also features a rehab facility with bears, bald eagles, and more (requires a moderate walk).
  • Dinner at The Gamekeeper, a local fine-dining restaurant with a talented chef and fantastic food.
  • Explore the shops of Blowing Rock and Boone.
  • Take a picnic lunch to nearby Trout Lake or Bass Lake
  • Take in the scenery of the Blue Ridge Parkway

The Tie that Barns

It’s not your father’s barn! Experience four nights of barn life just south of downtown Knoxville. You’ll take in the Borderlands Butterfly Garden, eat organic food from a local farmer, and see the sights on a drive through Smoky Mountain National Park.

The South Knox Stable is five minutes from downtown Knoxville and the University of TN. A barn-like renovation was given to this luxury vacation rental in order to provide guests with a unique experience as they visit our vibrant town. Every room in the stable is guaranteed to wow, and was carefully and thoughtfully designed with the guest in mind.

  • Relax with family and enjoy the large, open floorpan that only a barn can provide
  • Visit Great Smoky Mountain National Park, where you’ll take in nature on a scenic drive through America’s most-visited National Park.
  • Photograph nature at the Borderlands Butterfly Garden.
  • Eat a home-cooked meal entirely made up of food from Crooked Road Farm.

Celebrate 50 years of marriage with three nights in a 175-year-old historic home in historic Savannah, Georgia. Tour Savannah’s downtown from a horse-drawn carriage, eat fresh seafood cooked right in front of you, and enjoy family fellowship from your private courtyard.

Built in 1856, this stately historic home has been fully restored and renovated to have all the modern conveniences with the charm of original heart-pine floors and brick fireplaces (decorative only now).
